Cary Soccer is affiliated with these organizations
Cary Soccer Association is affiliated with Illinois Youth Soccer Association (IYSA) and provides youth soccer programs for girls and boys ages 4-18.
Cary Soccer is organized into two programs, both of which are governed by the CSA Board of Directors. The Travel Program, Cary Defenders, is for competitive, skilled players, and The Recreational (House) Program, is designed for recreational players to learn fundamentals while developing self-esteem and teamwork. USSF licensed and paid coaches guide the 23 Cary Defenders teams while parent volunteers coach our 85 recreational teams.
Additionally, since 1984, our Club has hosted the annual Sheppard Schleisman Tournament, one of the largest recreation tournaments in Illinois, featuring over 125 teams across Northern Illinois.
The Cary Defenders provides an environment for our area youth to develop skills and technical proficiency so they're able to thrive in the sport at a competitive level. The Travel Program consists of approximately 20 boys and girls teams from U7 thru U19 age divisions. Learn more about the Travel Program...
The House Program is designed to provide a venue for the recreational soccer player to learn fundamentals while developing self-esteem and teamwork. Our House program hosts about 85 teams from Pre-K thru U19 for both boys and girls. Learn more about the Recreational Program.
Cary Soccer has hosted the annual Sheppard Schleisman Tournament (SST) each Fall season, one of the largest recreational soccer tournaments in Illinois, featuring over 125 teams across Northern Illinois. The Sheppard Schleisman Tournament was founded in 1984, in memory of Stuart Sheppard, a U8 soccer player, and Tim Schleisman, a father and coach, who were tragically killed by a drunk driver. Please check back later for more 2012 Sheppard Schleisman Tournament information.
Coaches/officials are responsible for managing this policy. They should check weather reports for the day of an event to see if a severe weather watch is in effect for the time of the event. If a severe weather warning is issued during the event, be prepared for a potential delay.
If lightning is sighted, count the number of seconds between the flash and the first sound of thunder and divide by five. This will indicate how many miles the lightning is from your location.
If the lightning is determined to be 10 miles away, check storm movement and begin making preparations for a potential delay in the game.
In the event a lightning strike occurs in the first half of the game, one 30 minute delay will take place. If a second strike takes place, the game will be rescheduled by the two coaches.
In the event a lightning strike occurs in the second half of the game, the game is officially ended and the score stands.
